I just received this toaster yesterday. I purchased it for my desk at work so I could do english muffins and toast and such. Well my new 4 slice toaster is really a two slice toaster in disguise. The right side does not work at all. The left side has to be set to fairly dark to get any significant browning. It is still functional as a two slice toaster as long as you don't want dark toast (luckily I don't). I should really ship it back but as I said it is still functional and don't really want to take the time and hassel of shipping. As it is not a very expensive item I suppose I will live with it. But I would highly recommend NOT buying it. As some has said that theirs works fine and this doesn't apparently the Toastmaster company has very poor quality control.

Honestly, who would expect that nowdays you'd have to research before you bought a toaster? It's a TOASTER for crying out loud! How hard is it to make a toaster? Definitely stay away from ALL toastmaster products. Any company with a complete lack of product testing is bound to have other products that are just as bad as this worthless toaster.

I have had 3 different Toastmasters & 2 out of three are bad toasters I started with a two slice toaster & it went out after a lot of use & about 7 years I thought it was a good toaster so when it went out I went out & bought a new Toastmaster cause I had good luck with the first one. When I bought the second one I again bought a two slice toaster it would not cook the toast right & it took for ever to get two slices of toast out of it so after two years I went out & bought a 4 slice toaster & its terrible the one side takes about 5 mins to cook the toast & the other side burns the toast yes they both have their owne settings one you have to have on dardest & it might brown the toast ok & that is the side that takes about 5 min to cook & the other one you might get ok toast out of it the first time & the setting is set real low but when you try to use it again I will burn the toast. So I have not been happy with toastmaster for a long time & would not tell anyone to get that brand. Thank you, Very Up set.

I'm very happy with this unit. I have it on my sailboat and I have no complaints...Other than having wished I got a digital display for no other reason then confirmed accuracy. I don't know if they make it with a digital display, I purchased this unit because it has black sides and had a convection feature. I have not noticed any cooking differences with regard to time or temperature. Everything I have cooked has ended as planned. The convection feature is very nice and in hindsight I wouldn't buy one without it. I considered the Cuisinart only because of positive experiences with their products, but they didn't offer it in black or mostly black with a convection feature, and that was my first requirement. I am very happy with this unit, and considering it takes a pounding from the weather and seas, it is holding up quite well with no problems so far.

I acquired this model toaster oven from a company I used to work for who merged w/ another and sold/gave away pretty much everything in the building. I have had it now for about 2 years and it is my primary mode of heating currently in my apt (no microwave - hate em!) Anyway, I don't know how old it is, but it was at LEAST a year old when I aquired it, then it sat in my basement at home for a year before I used it. It works perfectly well. You just have to figure out any idiosyncrasies about how it actually cooks... i.e. you have to not be an idiot when using this item. My only issue - which is one that I have not yet gotten an answer to but am still looking - is that it comes with a small pan. This is very useful for cookies or nachos or whatever. However, it is made of a very light-coloured metal and I am pretty sure it's not non-stick (which is great) but I am worried as to what type of metal it is. It appears to be a rather soft metal that stains easily. My suspicion is it may be aluminum, in which case I would simply not use the pan any longer and just use a plate... not rocket science, folks! All in all, it's more or less a pretty decent little oven.

This Hamilton Beach 6-slice toaster oven has never worked very well -- only toasted one side, so I had to always flip the bread to toast both sides. Broil doesn't work as only the bottom elements get hot.



Now, after 1 year, the timer/start knob has stopped working -- it goes from timing the toasting right on to the keep warm setting, without turning off. I now have to keep the toaster unplugged when not in use, and time the toasting with my kitchen timer. Since the timer is also the on/off switch, there is no option to just toast without the timer.

This toaster oven does a great job with all tasks, toasting, baking, broiling. The controls are easy to use. I like that the door lifts up rather than swinging down. And it is a perfect fit for my small counter. The only thing that's a problem is the crumb tray. It has to be removed from the back of the oven. And if anything large falls through the toasting rack, it won't come out through the crumb tray. And the toasting rack is not removable so you have to wrestle a fallen item up through the rack.

The Aroma Aeromatic Convection Oven is a great addition to any Kitchen. It cooks fast with hot moving air. Take a frozen chicken, Put it in, and about 1.5 hours later dinner is ready. Homemade bread is great using this convection oven. Convection ovens are used in a lot of bakeries.(Of course they use larger ones.) It is great for fatty meats and fowl. Put your meat on one of the included racks and the grease cooks out of the meat making your meal more healthy. This is my second Convection oven, I have been using one for over 10 years and still love the way they cook.

I bought the B & Decker toaster oven because of its large size. Like other reviewers I did not like the way the tray came out so easily. This is a definite hazard. Also the little digital selection knobs started cracking after only 2 years.They are made of flimsy plastic.

In addition each time you open the door you must press start to resume cooking or get an annoying beep every few seconds. Finally after only 3 years of moderate use it malfunctioned and is now in some garbage dump. BUY THIS ONLY IF IT'S DIRT CHEAP!!!

This "oven" is a joke. Along with the other reviewers I have all the same complaints. Not insulating the walls of a $100 unit is a joke. The buttons are so hard to push I actually have to put the back against the wall as the only way to keep it from sliding back when I press them. No stop on the slide out rack? Would have taken 5 WHOLE minutes to borrow that design from a regular oven. One reviewer stated this unit recalls "last use" info. This would be great, but it's not on mine. No changing the timer after you press start, so you have to reprogram everything AGAIN if you want to change it. The thing that frustrates me most about this unit is the cooking timer starts directly after the 10 minute warm up period. So that if you are not in the room, you lose that cooking time forcing you reprogram. This is stupid because you A) haven't put the food in yet and B) you have to press start every time you open and close the door anyway. The convection works okay (other than burning food on the side closest to the fan) But they don't tell you you have to cut stated cooking times by about 1/3.

This is just a slapped together unit buyers as the testers instead of any real R&D.

I have been buying Black & Decker toaster ovens for years. This one seemed to be the ultimate -- digital, convection option, large capacity, black to match my kitchen. I use my toaster oven as a true second oven and really wanted something nice.



It's a very expensive piece of junk, basically.



1. If you pull out the rack more than 1/3 of the way, it falls forward. Fun.



2. You can't set the temperature above 400 degrees. French fries and most frozen meals expect at least 425.



3. I have yet to use the convection feature without burning my food to a crisp. There is some secret to using the convection that I am not aware of.



4. To push any of the buttons, you have to hold the other side of the oven so it won't move. I plan to look for something heat-proof and slide-proof that I can put under the oven to prevent this, as it's a real hassle when the oven is hot.



There are some good points, but to be honest I have no desire to list them, given how negative the bad points are to me.



As I paid a considerable amount of money for this, I feel obligated to stick with it until it dies. Thanks, Black & Decker.

This toaster is okay, but it is bigger than I expected, so it takes up extra counter space. Also, the lift up feature doesn't lift the toast up much at all. It doesn't toast evenly on each side, but it still toasts better than my old one. I will keep it, but I wish I had just gone with the basic stainless toaster.

If all you care about is how the toaster looks then this is fine. It is a good looking toaster which is why I purchased it, however, the performance is terrible. Tried several types of bread and settings and the results were the same every time, toasted on one side but almost raw on the other. And no it was not set on the bagel setting. In fact it is the inside faces of both slices that would not brown.

Top knob is variable temp 0-450 or max "broil/toast." Middle knob is 3 positions bake/broil/toast : bake= bottom 2 elements heat, broil= top 2 elements heat, toast= all four top and bottom heat. Bottom knob is variable timer up to 15 minutes or an "always on" option, it ticks and a bell rings one "ding" when done. Put wire rack in middle and it does a good job toasting. Outside dimensions 18 inches wide x 12 inches deep (includes rear wall "spacers" and front of knobs) x 8 3/4 inches tall. (just over 8 1/2 inches tall) Inside "cooking" area 10 inches deep x 11 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches tall from bottom rack position to just under top heating elements. Side panels do not get hot, but top, front, rear, and bottom does. Rear spacers keep it away from wall and legs keep it up off counter, so counter and wall do not seem to get hot. Simple enough to use, nice looking and more cooking room than my old toaster oven, which is what I like best about it. Black rigid plastic sides , brushed stainless steel metal front, rear, bottom. Has large glass door. Top looks like silver painted steel. Inside oven looks like more brushed stainless steel. I am very happy with my purchase. Comes with baking pan with broiling rack insert, and removable crumb tray. If I get 20 years out of it like my old B&D...fantastic!
