 "Awesome toaster oven!" 2009-05-22
By April (New Jersey)
This toaster oven is not only stylish, it cooks food to perfection. I used this instead of heating up my large oven and it cooks faster than the full sized oven too. Pizza comes out with a crispy crust and perfectly cooked cheese. The controls are easy to use and it has all the functions you could possibly need. De'Longhi makes great toaster ovens.

"Quality toaster / convection oven" 2009-02-22
By CMSF
This DeLonghi is one of the few toaster / convection ovens that has an enamel interior (and not an interior coated with Teflon or similar material). The controls are reasonably sturdy. There is a good range of cooking settings, including one for dehydrating vegetables and fruits. Everyone is sensitive to different sounds, but I do not find the beeping noises that accompany choosing settings annoying or bothersome. Unless you have a bedroom next to the kitchen, it's not likely a problem. These comments are based on 1 week's worth of use.

 "Toaster - Convection Oven" 2008-11-24
By M. Cohen (Moraga, California USA)
We had owned the previous DeLonghi Digital Convection Oven and we quite satisfied with it. The bottom heat elements were burning out and since they are very difficult to replace and the elements are a bit pricey we decided to replace.

This new model looks like it has elements that are more conventional if they need replacement in the future,

Not as good looking as the old and the settings, while simplified from the previous take longer to set.

The fan on the old model was whisper quiet, on this model a bit noisy. Since the fan is used only in convection mode this should not be a problem unless you plan on using it as a replacement for a full size convection oven.

That said, it works well and fills our needs.

"best toaster oven I have owned" 2008-01-13
By J. Franz (Houston, TX)
I have gone through 3 or 4 toaster ovens over the years and this is the ONE. My wife loves it too, which is all that really matters.

The fan bake is the best, food gets done quick and the food is actually properly browned and crispy. I love the light inside the unit and the digital readout ensures the temp. is correct and the timer keeps me from over cooking the food.

Something that is neat about this unit is that it has a quick function guide that pulls out from the bottom so you don't have to keep the user guide around in case you want to figure out what the pizza settings mean, etc.

My only complaint is that the display doesn't seem centered (the top and side has a white border, the bottom and right side doesn't). In addition it is pretty bright. A good night light I guess.

I would recommend this unit, it is just like William Sonoma unit (minus the dehydrator function and no stainless steel top/side casing).

"Lovely Looking & Perfect Cooking!" 2007-10-01
By Y. CHOI (FORT WORTH, TX United States)
I love this convection oven. It's exactly the same oven as the one at Williams Sonoma, which is sold at $200. I called Delonghi and they said the only difference is the color. It preheats fast, and does its job perfectly. I love the digital looking, and it's very easy to use. I also like the tray at the bottom, because it is so easy to clean. Overall, it is perfect.

"Where did the buttons go?" 2009-06-28
By Bolyengirl (Ohio)
I do love my toaster oven! The only reason I give it four stars is because the other model of the same toaster oven I had before this one (lasted 3yrs. used almost everyday, many times a day) had two buttons at the bottom instead of a dial. You could stop your toasting if you were finished. Now I have to wait till the little dial timer is done ticking. I mean I can get to my stuff and get it out, it's just the fact that it's still heating. Overall it does the job.

"There definitely seems to be a seitch issue" 2009-06-08
By Scott (washington, DC)
I have had the Cuisinart TOB-30BC for about 4 years. (it has a 3-yr warranty). The over is in great shape and I had no complaints. A few months ago, the unit started clicking when I would switch from to or away from the Bake function. It was apparently the switch because yesterday, the oven decided that it wouldn't shut off. The light turned off and the unit appeared to be off. A few hours later a noticed a smell from the kitchen and found that the over had been at 350 degrees for a few hours....very dangerous. I had a $150 cuisinart coffee maker crap out after a year as well. The reviews seem to indicate that Cuisinart is like a German car, built for performance, but reliability stinks.

"This toaster oven is junk...and dangerous" 2009-05-28
By C. D. G. (Whidbey Island, WA)
I bought this Cuisinart toaster oven because I've had a Cuisinart coffee maker for years and thought that another appliance by Cuisinart would be a good product. I used this toaster oven barely four months when the top heating element shorted out, causing a sparking and gray smoke to come out of the top vents. I continued to use it, but without the two top heating elements working it's basically useless. It's a piece of junk, totally abysmal quality. I will continue my search for a good quality toaster oven that's made in the USA (if anyone reading this review has any brand suggestions I would welcome them), and needless to say I wasted my money on a Cuisinart toaster oven. I didn't want to rate this with any stars, but Amazon insisted on a rating, so one star it is.

"Do not buy this toaster!!" 2009-04-28
By E. Tedford (Miami, FL, USA)
After reading all the reviews online, and realizing that there really isn't much selection when it comes to compact toaster ovens, I went on an purchased this locally (at a store with a 30 day no-questions-asked return period!). Initially I was pretty satisfied, though the toaster seemed to be burning everything on the top, but not heating up enough to cook things through (i.e., frozen garlic bread, small pizzas, etc.).

I thought maybe it was just a problem with the thermostat, or with the tray being too close to the top heating element, so I moved the rack and tray down to the lowest setting, and bought an oven thermometer. Still, at exactly the right temperature, the tops were getting burned, and the bottoms were still semi-frozen. I tried lowering temperatures and adjusting cooking times, but I couldn't even get a piece of toast to come out properly browned on both sides - one side, or part of one side, would be almost burnt, and the other side would still be soft and bready.

Also, the "dishwasher safe" pan is totally not dishwasher safe. I washed it once on a normal cycle and all the non-stick stuff washed off, leaving me with this nasty aluminum that wouldn't seem to clean. So, it didn't blow up or start a fire in my kitchen or anything, but after 2 weeks I've had more than enough.

**UPDATE** I ended up purchasing a Black & Decker TRO620 from my local Target store; I've had it for about 5 days so far and it seems to be perfect. Great toast, bagels, cookies, etc. Perfect!

"Times up for the toasters timer!" 2009-04-28
By M. Dibella (nj)
I mainly used this product for making toast and occasionally broiling. The timer on the toast function does not keep time anymore and basically every time someone tosses in a piece of toast it just burns it to smithereens. It seems not only did the timer time out...but the toast setting is stuck at dark and burns everything that goes into it. We owned it happily for a few years before this happened. (just enough time for the warranty to run out)(story of my life)...

So, if you are looking for a short term toaster commitment. This is the one! I myself am moving on to a new toaster that actually turns off! This one is freaking me out and forcing me to leave the fire extinguisher nearby while toasting some bread. NoT cOOL!

 "Toaster Oven" 2009-03-05
By Norman Felts (Downey, CA)
The DeLonghi Toaster Over is a piece of junk. I have a cheapie toaster oven right now. It is getting old and beat up so I decided to buy another one. I am limited as to overhead space. This is one reason why I decided on the DeLonghi. It is only around eight inches high and had a good rating. But, it is not user friendly. On my old toaster oven, when the door is opened the shelf is pulled out for easy access to the shelf itself, to pull it farther out if desired, and to the items cooking in the oven. The DeLonghi does not have this feature so I have burned my hands on several occasions trying to get the toast out of the oven. Plus, there is no way to turn the oven off if I make a wrong choice as to how long the bread is suppose to toast. In this situation I have to reach into the oven, with the burner going at full blast, to retrieve my bread so it will not over cook. And finally, if I desire to cook something for an extended period, I cannot easily do so. There is no way to turn the oven on an leave it on. So, if I want to cook something that takes longer than toast to cook, every few minutes I have to reset the timer. As I said, the DeLonghi is a piece of junk. I wish I had never bought it. Retuning it is such a hassle I have decided to put it in storage and to continue using my older toaster oven. To summarize, it is a piece of crap and I wish the law would allow me to beat the designer over the head with it. Signed, Norman Felts

"3 Strikes - this Toaster Oven is OUT!" 2008-12-27
By Tamar Brooks (Los Angeles, CA USA)
I really, really wanted this toaster oven. It was the perfect size and design and Amazon had it at a great price. I wanted modern looking Stainless Steel but not digital operation. Thought this was my answer. Well the first one they sent me shorted out my kitchen GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) plug. Every time I turned it on, it turned the electricity off. Moved it around to different plugs and the same thing happened.

So I sent it back and asked for a replacement. Amazon was happy to accommodate me. But the second one I received would not toast two cycles in a row. The first pair of bread slices would toast, but when I tried to follow up with a second pair of slices, it would never get hot enough to toast the bread. The bars would not even get read. So I ended up with hot, very hard bread that never browned or toasted.

So I sent the second one back and asked for a 3rd replacement. Again, Amazon was willing to give it another chance. But then the third toaster did the same thing the first toaster did. It shorted out every plug I tried in my kitchen making me re-set the GFI plugs. I thought perhaps they had sent me back the same toaster I had returned the first time. But I don't think so because of the way I know that I had packed up the warranty information papers. This seemed to be packed in the original manner that was done by the factory and not the way I had stuffed the papers into the toaster oven. So I sent it back again.

SAVE YOUR MONEY and FIND a DIFFERENT TOASTER OVEN! And if you find a good one, please review it on Amazon as I still have not found a decent toaster oven for my new kitchen.

"This toaster oven cannot make toast. " 2008-08-19
By Jude (Brooklyn, NY)
I returned 2 of them due to defective design. The first one that arrived had a defective knob which I would have had Delonghi replace but following the enclosed instructions for making toast, the lower element did not come on until well into the cycle so the top burned while the bottom was not toasted at all. I tried wheat bread, raisin bread and frozen waffles on several darkness settings and both rack positions. Although the unit seemed flimsy for $75 for a basic toaster oven, it was one of the few 4 slice (smaller) units and it looked OK on the counter so I had Amazon replace it. The toast function on second one was identical to the first so I returned it too. Delonghi is not a cheap brand; it should do better. Amazon should not carry this model.

Unlike every other toaster oven I have used over the past 25 years, in this one the toast rack is not connected to the door, so you have to reach inside a narrow hot oven to extract your toast. OW!

The toasting is also slow.

 "Doesn't last!" 2009-06-10
By Melvyn M. Libman
This was the 2nd DeLonghi toaster oven that I purchased. I didn't even have the product 6 months before it self-destructed. The on/off timer knob does not last on these units. The unit itself looks good and works well when it is working. However, It should last longer than 6 months. If you register the unit, DeLonghi still won't honor the warranty unless you have the original receipt. Then, at your expense, you have to package it and ship it off to some distant repair station, unless you live in one of those few cities that have one. I'm sure DeLonghi knows that most people would not be willing to go through the expense of having the unit boxed and shipped. My advice would be to find another brand of toaster oven and purchase that one instead.

"Toast on fire from defective switch" 2009-01-29
By Decorating Diva (California)
I read the review below before buying this toaster oven and ignored it because I loved how it looked and loved the removable tray. After about a year the problem below started to happen. The toast switch stayed in the on position and my toast kept burning and burning. Thankfully, I caught it before it started a fire. I should have listened.

"We had a rude awaking today, our Delonghi toaster was on fire. I will never again buy any Delonghi product. The defective design is in the toast switch. It is mechanical. When it finishes toasting, it sometimes continues to the "Always On" position thus leaving the toaster oven on toast: very, very hot. We literally had a house full of smoke & a toaster full of flames. You were warned.

Funny thing is, Delonghi makes an attractive product.

Sad thing is, they can cost you your house or worse."

"Add mine to the flaming garbage pile with yours..." 2009-01-21
By swyzlstyx (downtown houston)
Like in some of the others' reviews, mine worked great for about 6 months. Last week the timer stopped making the "ding" when it finished a toasting cycle.

Tonight about 20 minutes after using it, I smelled something burning in my kitchen. The timer had continued past the "toast" mode into "oven" mode...not a good thing when the temperature knob is set to it's highest setting to make toast. When I tried to switch it off, the cheap plastic knob melted off in my hand.

As soon as it cools off, it's going in the garbage, and I guess I'll have to start saving my money for a better model...and eat cold food for a few weeks. I won't be purchasing another POS DeLonghi.

I'm not going to bother trying to get it fixed, but I WILL bother reporting it as a fire hazard to the Amazon product safety team AND the US Consumer Poduct Safety Commission.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR RISK BURNING DOWN YOUR HOME WITH THIS ITEM!!! If you already HAVE one...unplug it immediately and chunk it in the garbage!!!

I bought this toaster over as a christmas present for my mom last year. After 1 month the timer stopped working. I called Delonghi and they told me to take it to an authorized service center which was luckily down the street from my work. I got it back in a week and gave it back to my mom.

Now, just after the 1 year warranty was up, it completely stopped working. I'm going to toss that POS in the trash and get her a new one. The other reviews are correct too. It has a very flimsy construction with very weak looking plastic knobs. DON'T BUY THIS TOASTER OVEN!!!!

"Nordic Ware Toaster Oven Casserole Pan" 2009-06-02

I got this a replacement for the original toaster oven tray, and I really like it. I always cover the tray in aluminum foil, so I haven't had any flaking issues even though I put it in the dishwasher. It's deep enough you can cook something with some sauce runoff, but easy to handle and a good sturdy weight without being too handy.

If you've caked on so much to your old tray you need a replacement, or want a pan that will allow you to use your toaster oven more like a traditional oven (baked potatoes, chicken dishes, etc.), then this pan will serve you well. I do recommend keeping it covered in aluminum foil - it is easily recycled and keeps your pan nice for longer.

"Very disappointed & no longer used" 2008-11-03
By Nocturnal (San Francisco)
It's the right size and I wish more bakeware companies made these smaller sizes because the "normal" size pans don't fit in our convection oven and we can't use glass or that plastic stuff. It's hard to find smaller size metal bakeware. But this one, and all the others with a non-stick surface, become useless after 2 or 3 uses--the non-stick surface starts to flake off (onto the food cooked in it) which is not healthy for you. And we don't have a dishwasher so it can't be blamed on that machine. We use the teflon-friendly utensils etc. but the stuff still flakes off. The manufacturers ought to just give up on the non-stick stuff and let us have plain ol' stainless steel--at least it's tough and can withstand scouring when needed, you can use Oven-off on badly burned crusty stuff, you can soak it in an ammonia-baking soda solution to lift off cooked-on food; you can still use the pan. These non-stick pans just start losing their non-stick surface within 2 or 3 uses, and the non-stick stuff is stuck to your food! Not good, not good, not good.

"My Nordic Ware Compact Oven 1-1/2-Quart Casserole Pan Review...." 2008-10-16
By E. Smith (Dallas, TX USA)
I use my toaster oven almost daily so am always on the hunt for good pans to use in it. But this time when I went on the hunt I wanted a "covered" pan for my little oven. I quickly found they do not exist like they do for my big oven so I decided to make one.

This pan, the Nordic Ware Compact Oven 1-1/2-Quart Casserole Pan, was perfect for one of the pieces. I purchased two of them. (My research led me to another pan here on Amazon... The Chicago Metallic Duncan Hines Toaster Oven Pan. I also ordered two of those.) When the 4 pans arrived I did a test fit and they fit together almost as if they were made to even though they were from totally different manufacturers. One pan's lip fits inside the other pan's lip making a decently stable 'catch'. The two pans, different depths, would allow me to have a lid on a casserole or a cover on a broiler pan.

All was great until I tried to remove the adhered label from the Nordic Ware pans. The glue refused to budge and I ended up with the cardboard in my hand and the glue in the pan. I tried to scrape it off with my fingernail but no luck. After trying several things I gave up and Emailed Nordic Ware customer service the following day. The customer service rep who contacted me went above and beyond the call when she took a pan home herself and worked on the problem until she solved it then mailed me and gave me the solution. So, thanks to Sue at Nordic Ware customer service and her solution of soaking the glue with a little vegetable oil, I am happy to say that the glue residue is no longer in the bottom of my pans. Now I can start using them and experimenting with my new "covered" set.

"What a great little pan!" 2008-09-16
By E. M. Wahl (Baghdad, Iraq)
I love this little pan! I read the previous reviews before I purchased this pan. I almost didn't get it because of all the negative reviews. Thank goodness I did! It was very very inexpensive so either way, I wouldn't be out by too much. I have used this pan every day for over a week and have had no problems with it. The non-stick coating works great and doesn't peel off. It's non-stick, so there is no need to use anything other than a sponge or washcloth... Those using SOS pads or steel wool don't know how to care for their cookware. This is a perfect pan for anyone wanting to bake in a toaster oven or even just wanting to bake for a small amount of people.
