I was happy to read some reviews about the products and liners. Followed E. Smith's advice and they really are a wonderful fit. Love them both. So happy to have this as an "empty nester."

I got this a replacement for the original toaster oven tray, and I really like it. I always cover the tray in aluminum foil, so I haven't had any flaking issues even though I put it in the dishwasher. It's deep enough you can cook something with some sauce runoff, but easy to handle and a good sturdy weight without being too handy.
If you've caked on so much to your old tray you need a replacement, or want a pan that will allow you to use your toaster oven more like a traditional oven (baked potatoes, chicken dishes, etc.), then this pan will serve you well. I do recommend keeping it covered in aluminum foil - it is easily recycled and keeps your pan nice for longer.

It's the right size and I wish more bakeware companies made these smaller sizes because the "normal" size pans don't fit in our convection oven and we can't use glass or that plastic stuff. It's hard to find smaller size metal bakeware. But this one, and all the others with a non-stick surface, become useless after 2 or 3 uses--the non-stick surface starts to flake off (onto the food cooked in it) which is not healthy for you. And we don't have a dishwasher so it can't be blamed on that machine. We use the teflon-friendly utensils etc. but the stuff still flakes off. The manufacturers ought to just give up on the non-stick stuff and let us have plain ol' stainless steel--at least it's tough and can withstand scouring when needed, you can use Oven-off on badly burned crusty stuff, you can soak it in an ammonia-baking soda solution to lift off cooked-on food; you can still use the pan. These non-stick pans just start losing their non-stick surface within 2 or 3 uses, and the non-stick stuff is stuck to your food! Not good, not good, not good.

I use my toaster oven almost daily so am always on the hunt for good pans to use in it. But this time when I went on the hunt I wanted a "covered" pan for my little oven. I quickly found they do not exist like they do for my big oven so I decided to make one.
This pan, the Nordic Ware Compact Oven 1-1/2-Quart Casserole Pan, was perfect for one of the pieces. I purchased two of them. (My research led me to another pan here on Amazon... The Chicago Metallic Duncan Hines Toaster Oven Pan. I also ordered two of those.) When the 4 pans arrived I did a test fit and they fit together almost as if they were made to even though they were from totally different manufacturers. One pan's lip fits inside the other pan's lip making a decently stable 'catch'. The two pans, different depths, would allow me to have a lid on a casserole or a cover on a broiler pan.
All was great until I tried to remove the adhered label from the Nordic Ware pans. The glue refused to budge and I ended up with the cardboard in my hand and the glue in the pan. I tried to scrape it off with my fingernail but no luck. After trying several things I gave up and Emailed Nordic Ware customer service the following day. The customer service rep who contacted me went above and beyond the call when she took a pan home herself and worked on the problem until she solved it then mailed me and gave me the solution. So, thanks to Sue at Nordic Ware customer service and her solution of soaking the glue with a little vegetable oil, I am happy to say that the glue residue is no longer in the bottom of my pans. Now I can start using them and experimenting with my new "covered" set.

I love this little pan! I read the previous reviews before I purchased this pan. I almost didn't get it because of all the negative reviews. Thank goodness I did! It was very very inexpensive so either way, I wouldn't be out by too much. I have used this pan every day for over a week and have had no problems with it. The non-stick coating works great and doesn't peel off. It's non-stick, so there is no need to use anything other than a sponge or washcloth... Those using SOS pads or steel wool don't know how to care for their cookware. This is a perfect pan for anyone wanting to bake in a toaster oven or even just wanting to bake for a small amount of people.
