I have used my toaster oven for maybe 3 years, usually about once weekly. Definitely not getting heavy usage. But last week I noticed that the toast was badly burned, and when looking closer, the knob was turned to the left for the clicking timer for toast, but when the timer dinged, it usually turned off. This time the timer kept going and turned the knob to the right, which is the continuous cook option. It will burn everything if you don't stay right there with it. I am throwing mine away- it is too dangerous with this fire hazard.
It's a shame there are no repair options, but this is the last time I will buy this brand.

This is a nice, roomy, handsome toaster oven, but as in everything, handsome is as handsome does. I have had this toaster oven for only a couple of years, and it wasn't until I burned the toast that I realized that the timer bell was ringing but the timer didn't stop, moved on toward the "ON" slot, and the elements heated up again. I decided it was possible to remove the toast when the bell rang, shut the door, and not notice that the elements were heating up again. A DEFINITE FIRE HAZARD. I knew I could unplug the toaster immediately after every use, but I was afraid I or house guests might forget to take that precautionary, essential step. This total failure came as a big disappointment, because this malfunction came on so soon. I wonder if a digital timer would be more reliable. Or maybe it's time to return to the time-honored pop-up!

Had it about a year and a half and it just died. I can't say there are any really good features to praise. Toasting is kind of slow.

My biggest complaint about most of the ovens I have looked at in the stores was that the door feels loose and janky. Let's see, the thing I use the most SHOULDN'T be the cheapest-feeling thing on it, but they usually were.
The door on the DeLongi is not the most noticeable thing - meaning it just blends in with the rest of the construction as far as quality and usefulness. Meaning: NO janky garbage here.
The knobs are good, still way better than the ones I felt on the new O***r ovens, which were horrible.
The heating element is nicely placed in that i found it heated the food evenly. A mini pizza came out with an even browning on both sides.
When using the supplied trays you may find that the heat doesn't quite travel around the tray to the top like it should. We end up using the rack most of time, anyway.
The top of the unit gets very warm, but doesn't feel as though it would burn you if you touched it quickly. (If you pass out and fall on top of this thing you might experience a different result.) The sides remain quite cool to the touch. The back, however, is just metal and gets just as hot as the inside of the oven. I recommend you keep an eye on just how far back you shove this thing to your wall. Anything that touches the back of the unit MAY get hot or become melted (i.e. wiring, counter back splash, Grandma's hand-knitted doilies...)
The bell is kind of annoying. In this day and age, I do not own anything that has a bell and striker. When the timer reaches zero or when you turn it off the oven rings the bell once. I found it a bit 'rotary dial' sounding (yes, you're old if you remember those phones.) So, when you are up at midnight sneaking in a piece of toast you will surely wake up the others with the tell-tale sound of that stupid bell as you turn off the oven. Then you will have to either explain or share. I'm opening it up and removing it - I like my secret midnight toast.
All being said, I HIGHLY recommend this oven.

We purchased a DeLonghi toaster oven and both the toaster and oven functions stopped working right after the one year warranty expired. We barely used this product. When contacting customer service we were told that there were no replacement parts available for our model and there was nothing we could do and nothing they would do for us. My $20 toastmaster lasted more than 15 years! This is the last time I buy a toaster based on appearance!
