We bought this toaster oven when our old, cheap one gave out. We researched all the reviews and consumer reports and discovered that very few had favorable ratings from buyers. This was the biggest exception. It was in truth, considerably more than many that were available, but the toaster oven is an appliance we rely upon heavily. It is used at almost every meal. So we went for quality.
So far we got it. The oven works beautifully. For the first time I can make toast without having to run the oven twice, hovering over it, and getting it either burned or not done. Set up, press start and forget. No more smoke alarms. It also bakes light meals extremely well, again start and forget. Things come out precisely cooked without error. It is bigger than most, we had to re-arrange the counter top, but the oven is more versatile (such as cooking pizza). The build quality and workmanship is outstanding. The only caveat is that the rack and some of the metal parts get very hot, however that is to be expected given what it puts out. Do not let small children operate.
Worth the price.

I am a widow and wanted something that I could use to bake a small serving in so I wouldn't have to heat up the whole oven. Have used this for baking and toasting and it has been great! I looked at this model online at various places but the best deal was right here on Amazon. I have purchased other items from Amazon in the past and have always been pleased with their service.

Stainless sttel surface blends well with other stainless steel appliances in kithcen. Operation is easy and silent. Nicely browned toast with standard default settings. Hope to be trying other features soon.

This product was a huge disappointment - the metal cabinet is very cheaply made with flimsy sheet metal covering most of the unit. In most households, this won't hold up to even moderately gentle use. The unit was shipped to me via Amazon with numerous dents in the top. The dents were not deep, but they were very clearly visible. Another thing that irritated me about the unit that I received is that it had a small scratch on the interior of the oven that is visible just inside the open door. The scratch had been covered over with a black paint of some kind that was carelessly applied -- most likely this was caught by Cuisinart and "patched up" just prior to boxing the unit up -- just to get it out the door. This black paint began to peel off after just a couple of uses of the oven.
The control panel of the unit has small red lights to indicate which function is active, but the label for each control is non-illuminated. In moderate or lower ambient lighting levels, the very small lettering for each control is hard to read.
The front door of the product developed a problem early on -- not closing completely.
On the plus side, the unit toasts things well.
I definitely would never buy this item again knowing firsthand now how it really is. I am also very disappointed with Amazon that they would ship an item with dents in it. The carelessly covered up scratch on the interior was another defect that should have prevented the unit from being sold as a new item. (This item was sold as "new" and was not specified as being "reconditioned" or "refurbished".)

We are very pleased with this item. At this point we have not utilized all the features, but what we have used work very well. We also purchased one to give to a family member.
