The Infrawave Quick Cooking Oven from Black & Decker lets you leave your traditional toaster-oven preconceptions behind. This Cooking oven uses specific wavelengths of light that are emitted from high-power light bulbs, which means you get instant heat with no preheating and faster results than traditional toaster ovens. You don't even have to worry about what temperature to cook at since the intelligent profiling system cycles the cooking lights according to the type of food being cooked.

I've actually owned this for a couple of years now and it has been great for chicken nuggets for the kids, hot dogs, quick meals like that. Was never crazy about it as a toaster and never tried to cook a big meal with it (anything bigger than a hot dog anyways!)
I wanted to write this though because like some others, we woke up this morning to this thing being on and very hot. That had never happened before. Something inside it must have given up and now it does not matter if you use the power switch or not, the unit will always be on and heating at what seems to be full blast as long as it is plugged in. Unfortunately, with this being the case, you can't even control the temperature or any of the other cooking settings, its either full blast when plugged in, or nothing at all when unplugged. The controls are merely for show at this point. Obviously this is a huge fire hazard because this thing gets very very hot.
I gave two stars because it worked well for what we needed it for for the past couple of years but now its just a dangerous product to have. I got two years out of it, others seem to have gotten less time than that so please be aware before purchasing this that at some point, there is a good chance of this happening to you.
Just an fyi, I did try it on a few different outlets to make sure it wasn't the house electrical system and this is unfortunately broken on all outlets. Also, I cant seem to find this for sale or in any historical information on Black and Decker's website so it appears that they have cut ties with this unit.

We bought this oven four months ago to replace a swanky Krups one that exploded, and so far, the only thing it's good at is making toast. We've cooked several different foods in it -- salmon, sweet potatoes, meatloaf -- and reheated things like pizza, French fries and chicken tenders. While the salmon broils in 5 minutes, half the time it usually would, it's barely lukewarm. It's cooked, just not hot. The sweet potatoes just wouldn't cook, and we ended up having to microwave them while we ate the rest of our Thanksgiving dinner! We had to finish the meatloaf in the microwave too.
It's also really, really small inside. The largest tray that will fit it is 7" x 9". NOT big enough for squat. It only holds two slices of pizza (and those didn't get hot after 7 minutes; I could stick my finger right on the cheese, when in my previous toaster oven it was hot enough after a 5-minute reheating that I couldn't eat it right away).
Luckily the local store we bought this from is AWESOME and will take it back, even after a few months of use. It just doesn't do the job. Don't waste your money!

Oven didn't work at all - never got hot; and when I wanted to return it for an exchange the vendor said they were out of them and they couldn't exchange it for another one. What a bummer...

A month ago, I posted a 4-star review of this product. I thought it worked pretty well. It was fast and easy to use and required no pre-heating.
Tonight, I woke up to an apartment full of smoke. The unit turned itself on and it was baking itself. The way the unit turns on, I know that it couldn't have been activated by user error -- no careless brush against the control panel would turn it on, as you actually need to press several buttons in order to turn it on. In fact, I hadn't used the oven in about a week -- Yet, there it was, tonight, glowing in the dark kitchen. I pulled the plug. There's a bit of a scorch mark on the wall behind it, but aside from the acrid smoke, I caught it before it did any more damage. I just now did a search on the web, and I've seen several accounts similar to mine.
I would feel awful if someone bought the oven on my advice and suffered a fate worse than mine. Please don't buy this oven, or, if you do, keep it unplugged when not in use.
