I love this toaster oven but sure miss the ability to use as a broiler. Black and Decker missed the boat on this one.

Caution. We purchased this unit and decided to try it before installing. Thank goodness because it caught on fire. Actual flames! We tried to deal with B&D but it was taking too long and too much red tape. WE ended up just returning it. B&D did say that it is a newly designed unit and no longer follows their old model.

Nice Concept, not dificult to opperate at all, Mounting was not as challanging as I thought it was going to be. If you have a counter lip of 3/4" or grater AND you want to use the included dirctions to mount, you are out of luck. The instructions will have you holding the screws inside the cabinite with plastic grommits around them wasting about an 1" of the needed screw, this method also makes putting items in the cabinite flat imposssable. My suggestion counter sink the screws into the cabinite botton about 1/4". This will leave plenty of screw exposed to mount the CORRECT way and there are enough spacers to use.
My first grip is the quality of this appliance, I don't mind dropping $85 for a well styled toaster which this is, and I know it's a spacemaker, but the rack seems too close to the top heating element for baking function, it's perfect for toast but I bought it to do 2 things.
Also, and most important, after 2 DAYS of use, when we turn on the oven it makes a loud sound as the element starts to heat up, like my OLD toaster used to do before it broke! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I would of rated a 2.5 but I don't have that option. Kick it up a notch B & D!!

I bought this model to replace an old Black & Decker toaster oven and didn't expect perfection, but this model seems to be worse than my previous, cheaper model. Making toast in this oven is a guessing game. The first batch of toast requires using a higher toast setting to factor in warm-up time, but the next batch will burn if you use the same setting. You have to watch your toasts yourself, which makes the toast feature pretty much useless. Also, toasting is uneven, half of the toast will be white while the edges will be nicely toasted (see picture I posted).
I do not recommend this oven.

We love that the toaster gives us more counter space but just like other reviews state, it was very hard to install. Eventually we got it to install but it took lots of swearing and luck.
